Keythedral in the making.
Dan Granquist and Ken Lawrence sit in on a game of Keythedral. Note the stapler supporting Dan's screen and the pack of Post-it notes supporting Ken's. The screens fall over too easily in this otherwise outstanding game.
A look at Keytown.
This is a look at the town of Keytown, in the middle of Keydom as it was set up during our game of Keythedral. I was playing green, and did quite well! I ended the game in 1st place with 53 points.
Citizens of Keytown!
A nice group shot from our Keythedral game. Around the table from left to right are; my empty seat, Chrissy Lawrence, Dan Granquist, Ken Lawrence and Lisa Johnson.
It's not your turn yet!
Just kidding. This time it actually was Ken's turn as his wife Chrissy looks on during this game of Samurai. We ended the night with this one on April 30, 2005.
Doge in action.
This was our first game of Doge by Leo Colovini. My wife Lisa (left) and fellow SGG gamer Seana Miller had plenty to smile about as I got crushed in this one. Lisa ended up winning it with 6 palaces (one in each district). I thought this was one of Colovini's best games I have ever played. It felt less abstract than most of his other designs, and had some real interesting mechanics. I can't wait to play this one with four players!
Taj Mahal.
Ken Lawrence (standing) chooses a card to play during his turn in Taj Mahal, while Nate Jokel prepares his cards and looks on.
"I think it's near your foot".
Chrissy Lawrence leans over to pick up a dropped component from the Taj Mahal game while Nate places a palace on the board. Dan Granquist (center) looks slightly concerned (or suspicious) at the game.
Coloretto.
Nate decides to grab one of the rows in this game of Coloretto. This simple card game was a big hit with everyone on this night. Cathie "Miss Kitty" Arcisz cheers on Nate while munching on some Skittles. Mmmm.... sugar.
Tough choice.
Figuring out just where to put that +2 card in Coloretto can be a very tough decision to make. I am in the red "Sea Dogs" sweatshirt, hoping Nate will drop the card in the middle row! Hey Cathie, don't look so sad... I'm sure he will find a great place to put the card!
Chinatown.
Quentin Hall (left) and Eric "I got hosed" Yanofsky (right) during our session of Chinatown. How bad could it have been Eric? I mean, you did place 3rd in a 5 player game.
Let the hosing begin!
Quentin and Eric begin counting up points in the final scoring of Chinatown.
The Princes of Florence.
Eric, Seana, Lisa, Quentin, and my empty seat in a five-player game of The Princes of Florence from our SGG session on May 27, 2005.
Himalaya.
A photo from Bob Day in Peabody, MA on May 28, 2005. Alan R. Moon (far left) checks out our game of Himalaya. This was the first time playing for all of us. The players seated around the table from left to right are Craig Massey, Pitt Crandlemire, and Bob Scherer-Hoock. I think Alan is still trying to figure out what's fun about this one.
